Residence
hall living is an important part of the total educational experience. The
concept of group living at College of Saint Mary's residence hall program
acknowledges that the hall is not just a place to sleep and study. The hall
experience, with the relationships you enjoy and the activities in which you
participate, is an integral part of your total learning experience here at CSM!
As a member of the residence hall community, you will encounter a variety of
new experiences and opportunities. You have the freedom to learn about
yourself, while you enjoy all the comforts of home.
The
residence hall staff includes the Director of Residence Life, the Assistant
Director of Residence Life, the student Assistant Residence Director for
Lozier, and 9 Resident Advisors (RA). Programs are planned throughout the year to
build community and explore various academic, multicultural and personal growth
topics. The residence hall staff will encourage you to take advantage of these
opportunities, but only you can guarantee that they have
value by your willingness to get involved and participate.
Two
residence halls comprise the on-campus living at CSM. Gallagher and McAuley
wings are physically joined by Lozier Tower and include a front desk,
downstairs lounge, lounges on each floor, community bathrooms and a community
kitchen. The Mothers
Living & Learning Program is located on the top two floors of Walsh
Hall, which allows single mothers to live on campus with their children while
attending college.
To keep
everyone informed of upcoming events and relevant information, all residents
attend a monthly meeting, led by their RA. Residence hall policies are given
out to each student at the beginning of the year and residents are required to
read and honor all college and residential policies.
