Transfer students are admitted unconditionally if they achieved admissible high school grades and maintained a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in college. Transfer students who would not have qualified after high school graduation may be accepted unconditionally if they have accumulated 12 semester academic credits from an accredited institution. Transfer students who do not meet these standards but show potential for success may be admitted on probation.
Transfer credits are evaluated on the basis of the following:
1) Accreditation of the school from which the student transfers;
2) The comparability in nature, content, and level of credit earned to that of CSM;
3) The year the credits were granted for subjects that change rapidly.
CSM does not accept transfer grades below C (2.0). Students enrolled in a bachelor's or an associate's degree program must complete 30 of their last 45 hours at College of Saint Mary. CSM accepts up to 64 semester hours from community colleges.
Transfer students are expected to take a minimum of 12 credit hours in their major fields of study at CSM. Individual programs may require more credit hours in the major field.
CSM maintains articulation agreements with several area community colleges. These agreements allow community college graduates to plan ahead for transfer to CSM.
