Ginny Cook grew up as the youngest of five sisters and brothers in Burlington, Iowa, along the Mississippi River. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelors' degree in administrative and therapeutic recreation. She began her professional career at the University of Iowa's Psychiatric Hospital, which is where she did her professional internship.    

Ginny's career emphasis changed once she had two daughters. She then spent the next 14 years raising her family in what she considers the "most important and challenging job of her lifetime."   

Once her children were older, Ginny re-entered the workforce with Metropolitan Community College as a community service coordinator. She then took a job as an admissions counselor with a local career college before coming to College of Saint Mary. 

Reading, traveling, baking, gardening and sewing are a few activities Ginny enjoys doing in her recreational time...

Terra Moyers is a 2010 graduate of College of Saint Mary. She studied Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing. She also was a member of the basketball and softball team. Before coming to Saint Mary in 2007, Terra attended Dixie State College in St. George, Utah, where she grew up. She completed two years of school and played basketball there before moving to Omaha. Along with being an admissions counselor, she will also be helping with the College of Saint Mary basketball program as an assistant coach. 

Terra has a love for sports and has been involved in them since she could walk. Even though she is done with her college career, she still participates in many sports leagues. She also loves being outdoors, boating, snowboarding, camping, and just spending time with friends.

In September 2005, Maria Luisa Gastón joined College of Saint Mary as its first Latina recruiter. "My mission is to facilitate and defend the dignity of Hispanic families, especially women," she said. "And what better way to do this than through access to higher education?" Gastónworks with Latina students and families to help overcome the barriers they face in pursuing higher education.

Originally from Cuba, Gastón came to the U.S. with parents and five sisters when she was 15, finished high school in Philadelphia, then obtained a BS in chemistry and philosophy from Cabrini College, and later an MA in religious studies from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. 

In addition to recruitment and retention of Latina students,Gastón also directs the annual Latina Summer Academy, a week-long academic camp geared to 9th and 10th grade Latinas. 

Gastón re-energizes her spirit visiting her son and two grandchildren in Columbia, Maryland.

Kristin Buscher is dedicated to helping students achieve their ultimate goals.  She is a graduate of Colorado State University, where she studied journalism, history and English.  She believes that education is a very important aspect of life - it's one thing that can't be taken away from a person.

Kristin came to College of Saint Mary in 2007 from University of Phoenix, where she was an enrollment counselor for almost two years. She recently graduated with her Master of Business Administration, and her next goal is to work on her Doctorate in Educational Leadership. She loves to learn new things, and considers herself a lifelong learner. "I really love to hear a student's excitement when I have the opportunity to help her move a step closer to her educational dreams," said Buscher.

Kristin was married in April 2006 to Jon Buscher, a 6thgrade science teacher at Millard North Middle School, and they recently welcomed a new member to their family in February - son, Nicholas James. She loves to sing, dance, bike ride, watch movies, hang out at the beach.

Jamie Hilz is very passionate about education, and she is very excited about being at CSM. She looks forward to helping women move one step closer to their educational dreams.  She believes that having a positive attitude is the key to happiness and success in life.

She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where she majored in psychology.  Her studies focused on educational psychology, cognitive psychology, and the psychology of learning. One of her proudest moments was graduating as a lifetime member of Psi-Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology.

Jamie enjoys spending time with her fiancé Kevin, shopping, listening to music, and playing with/training her dogs.

Jeanna Burrell is a counselor dedicated to the journey and success of her non-traditional, transfer and graduate students. She is an active listener and takes a personal interest in her students, their families, goals, and success. Jeanna is a College of Saint Mary alumnus and is completing her Masters in Organizational Leadership this May. Jeanna will be pursuing her Ph.D. in the field of leadership this year; her desire is to continue research in the area of higher education, curriculum and first-generation students.    

She plays an active role in the College of Saint Mary community - volunteering in the Mothers Living and Learning program, curriculum committee, and tutoring services. Jeanna loves to spend time with her spouse Anthony, two girls, and foster son. She is currently working on refurbishing a grand piano. "I understand the immense challenges a non-traditional or graduate student can endure when trying to balance family, work, and school. It is my personal mission to help those students have a flawless transition into the CSM Community and enjoy the steps of progress and success."
