FINANCIAL AID FAQ

·         HOW DO I APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID?

Apply for federal aid in one of two ways.  The quickest and most accurate method for a student to file their FAFSA is electronically through FAFSA on the Web (available in both English and Spanish).  To do so, log on to www.fafsa.ed.gov. Once the application is completed, remember to sign using your PIN number (parent also if applicable).  Request your PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. If you prefer to complete a paper application, contact the Express Center at 399-2362 for more information.

·         WHEN SHOULD I APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID?

Students will need to file a FAFSA every year that they are in school (on or after January 1st of each year).  College of Saint Mary's academic year begins with the Fall Semester (August) and ends with the summer term (July).

·         IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR FILING MY FAFSA?

Yes. For priority consideration, we recommend you file the FAFSA online (www.fafsa.ed.gov) no later than March to insure prompt processing.
