Permanently Endowed Scholarships
Named Endowed Scholarship Funds offer a unique opportunity to our benefactors to assist in fulfilling our mission and to establish a lasting memory for future generations. Our traditions emphasize support for economically less advantaged students in their quest for an excellent university education. Today, with the escalating costs, it is increasingly important for College of Saint Mary to seek support for tuition assistance to ensure our service to a diverse student population.
A donor may establish an Endowed Scholarship Fund with a gift of $25,000. For more information about creating a named endowed fund, contact Chris Tudor at 402-399-2334.
Outright Gifts include donations of cash, checks or credit cards. Gifts may be made online as well. All outright gifts are fully tax deductible, up to the maximum of 50 percent of your adjusted gross income. Any excess may be carried over and deducted over as many as five subsequent years.
Gift of Securities
Gifts of stock offer two-fold savings. Donors pay no capital gains on the increased value of the appreciated stock and receive an income tax deduction for the full market value at the time of the gift. Transferring securities is easy; however, to ensure proper tax credit, timely acknowledgement, and accurate processing of your stock donation, please contact the Advancement Office for additional information.
Gifts of Real Estate
Real property, either in its entirety or in part, can be deeded to College of Saint Mary. It is even possible to arrange a sizable tax deduction by deeding a home or farm to the school now, while continuing to occupy the property for life. All real estate transactions are subject to inspection and final approval by the President and the Board of Trustees of College of Saint Mary.
Many employers participate in a matching gift program. This is a tremendous benefit that can double or even triple your gift to College of Saint Mary. Check with your human resources department for matching gift forms to substantially increase your gift.
Memorial and Honorary Tribute Gifts
These types of gifts provide a tribute in memory of a loved one or in honor of a person during his/her lifetime. Contributions help fund programs such as campus ministry, tuition assistance, athletics, visual and performing arts or academic programs.
The Our Lady of Mercy Society
Members of this society have thoughtfully included College of Saint Mary in their estate plans or wills. These gifts of forethought and generosity take many forms: bequests, living trusts, annuities or other life income plans, which name College of Saint Mary as a beneficiary of their estate plans or wills. If you would like more information about making a planned gift, contact Christine Tudor at 402-399-2334; email@example.com.
