College of Saint Mary Volleyball Team Digs Pink

College of Saint Mary’s Volleyball Team presented a $500 check to the Susan G. Komen Nebraska Chapter on Monday, October 13.

The Flames held their annual Dig Pink game on October 2nd, as they took on Concordia University. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Flames sold Pink t-shirts, along with donating all admissions proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Nebraska chapter.

“Our team is thrilled to be able to donate to such an important cause,” stated Samantha Hammond, Flames Head Volleyball Coach. “Every dollar goes towards research to find a cure and helps those people in our community access education, screening and treatment.”


College of Saint Mary’s eight athletic teams including basketball, cross country, golf, swimming, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball, are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Midland Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC). College of Saint Mary, founded in Omaha in 1923, is the region's only Catholic college for women.
