Residence hall living is an important part of the total educational experience. The concept of group living at College of Saint Mary’s residence hall program acknowledges that the hall is not just a place to sleep and study. The hall experience, with the relationships you enjoy and the activities in which you participate, is an integral part of your total learning experience here at CSM! As a member of the residence hall community, you will encounter a variety of new experiences and opportunities. You have the freedom to learn about yourself, while you enjoy all the comforts of home.
The residence hall staff includes two full time staff members who are the Director of Residence Life and the Assistant Director of Residence Life. We also rely on experienced student leaders to serve as student staff. One student staff member serves as the Community Coordinator for Lozier Tower, and there are 9 Residence Advisors (RA). Programs are planned throughout the year to build community and explore various academic, multicultural and personal growth topics designed to complement your education. The residence hall staff will encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities, but only you can guarantee that they have value by your willingness to get involved and participate.
Two residence halls comprise the on-campus living at CSM. Lozier Tower is our traditional residence hall (which includes both Gallagher and McAuley wings connected by the tower in between). This building includes a front desk, 24-hour computer lab, lounges on each floor, with community bathrooms, laundry facilities, and a kitchen. Madonna Hall is home to our Mothers Living & Learning Program, which allows single mothers to live on campus with their children while attending college. Madonna Hall offers suite-style living with a roommate and her child(ren). This includes four bedrooms, one private bathroom, refrigerator, kitchen sink and cabinets in every suite. Also, each floor has a community kitchen area, large lounges and laundry facilities.
To keep everyone informed of upcoming events and relevant information, all residents attend all-hall gatherings led by the professional staff, and floor meetings led by their RA. Residence hall policies are given out to each student at the beginning of the year and residents are expected to understand and honor all college and residential policies.
