On Deck for Grand Slam Digs

The Heritage Park softball complex, just east of the Lied Fitness Center and home to the Flames softball team, is scheduled for an all-star upgrade. The proposed complex addition includes restrooms, locker rooms, a concession stand and accommodations for umpires, statisticians, announcers and the media.

“As we move to the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), it’s imperative that we provide an exceptional facility for our athletes and their fans,” said Flames Athletic Director Jim Krueger. “This past year, the softball team had its best record in 10 years. The addition will allow our team to compete at a higher intercollegiate level and assist our coaches in recruiting top players.” 

A fundraising campaign is currently underway for the project, estimated to cost $500,000.
