CSM names Ashley Bails as vice president of marketing and communications

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary (CSM) is pleased to announce Ashley Bails has been named vice president of marketing and communications.   

Bringing nearly two decades of experience in marketing and strategic leadership, Bails began her duties at CSM in February.  

“Ashley’s leadership, strategic vision and passion for higher education will be invaluable as we continue to elevate College of Saint Mary’s brand and impact,” says CSM President Heather Smith. “Her experience and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our mission, and we are thrilled to welcome her to our team.”  

In her new role, Bails plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the College’s brand, marketing initiatives and communications.  

Bails comes to CSM from Ervin & Smith, an Omaha-based marketing agency, where she spent the past 11 years, most recently serving as chief operating officer. In this role, she led the agency’s media, creative and client services teams, developing high-impact brand strategies, paid media and digital marketing campaigns for clients across various industries.  

Before Ervin & Smith, Bails built a strong foundation in higher education marketing, holding key positions at Nebraska Methodist College, the University of Nebraska Omaha and Wichita State University. Her passion for education and student success makes her a natural fit for CSM’s mission.  

A former student-athlete at Iowa State University, Ashley earned her undergraduate degree while playing for the Cyclone softball team. She later obtained a master’s in education in sports management from Wichita State University. Born and raised in Omaha, Bails now resides in Papillion with her husband, Joel, and their three children.
