CSM Physical Therapy Faculty Document, Publish Article on Program’s Equitable Grading Practices
Assistant Professor Shannon Richardson, PT, DPT, EdD; Assistant Professor Monica Dial, PT, DPT, EdD; Assistant Professor Janet Kneiss, DPT, PhD; Assistant Professor Nipaporn Somyoo, PT, DPT; Program Director Kimberly Varnado, PT, DPT, DHSc; collaborated on the article “Equitable Grading Practices in Physical Therapist Education: A Case Report.” The report documents the implementation of equitable grading practices in a doctor of physical therapy program, offering valuable insights and recommendations for other institutions aiming to adopt similar practices.
“Our article highlights a transformative approach to assessment in physical therapy education,” Richardson said. “By implementing these practices in our program, we aim to create a more just and supportive learning environment that recognizes the diverse strengths and challenges of our students. This case report offers practical strategies for other institutions seeking to promote fairness and inclusivity, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.”
