Josie Harper Nursing Scholarship
Through the generosity of The Harper Family Foundation, College of Saint Mary is helping to provide a debt-free pathway to 100 nursing students over the next four years! Charles “Mike” Harper and his late wife Joan “Josie” launched The Harper Family Foundation to create a legacy of giving. Josie was a nurse who passed away from cancer. Their goal has become to create lasting and impactful contributions.
Josie Harper Nursing Scholarship Recipients receive:
- The Josie Harper Nursing Scholarship grants $10,000 annually to awarded scholars. This Scholarship is automatically renewable each year through the completion of your BSN degree.
- Navigate your college experience with your personal Student Success Advisor in addition to your Academic Advisor
- Nursing skills/sim center
Eligibility Requirements
- Applied to one of the following:
- Practical Nursing Certificate (PNC), as a new student beginning May 2025.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) pathway as a new student beginning in August 2025.
- Financial need as demonstrated by FAFSA.
Application Process
Before starting your application form, we recommend having your final essay and resume completed and ready to upload within the application. Also, please file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. College of Saint Mary's federal school code is 002540.

4. Submit Two Letters of Recommendation
You will need to submit two letters of recommendation from persons attesting to your qualification and motivation to be a successful nursing student and healthcare professional. It is recommended that letters come from teachers, administrators, professional, or other impactful adult figures.
