27 CSM Practical Nursing Graduates Pass Boards on First Attempt
OMAHA, Neb. – Twenty-seven College of Saint Mary practical nursing certificate program graduates had a 100% pass rate on their first attempt at the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN). The NCLEX-PN is a test that measures a person’s knowledge and expertise of the essential skills that are required to safely enter the field of practical nursing.
The graduates took their boards between June and October. This was the largest PNC class to graduate from CSM and a huge accomplishment for them.
“Many of these students did not make it to this accomplishment easily. They worked hard both in the classroom and out,” said Dr. Jennifer Kuchta, director of the PNC program. “As faculty, we provided a lot of one-on-one tutoring and assistance to help them understand the information. Not only did these students work hard in school, but they also had their personal lives to balance.”
Dr. Mindy Barna, associate dean of health professions, credited the faculty for their efforts and congratulated the graduates. “Our faculty’s dedication and support of our PNC is very much appreciated, and we are proud of our graduates and this amazing academic accomplishment,” she said.
Kuchta agreed.
“I’m so proud of these students and can’t wait to see where they go from here,” she said.
