Alumnae Spotlight
Stephanie Bradley Peterson '98
College of Saint Mary set the course for Stephanie Bradley Peterson’s success in her career.
“Receiving my bachelor’s degree, particularly in math, set forth my actuarial career,” the 1998 CSM graduate said. “Had I not had the support of my professors and the staff, I would not be where I am today. My CSM support system was like family, and I will be forever grateful.”
Stephanie also earned degrees in biology and chemistry from CSM.
Stephanie's involvement in various CSM activities, including her roles as a resident advisor and a member of the Student Senate, shaped her into the leader she is today. “CSM taught me the importance of asking questions and standing up for my beliefs,” she shared.
Post-graduation, Stephanie embarked on a career that saw her rise through the ranks of two different companies – Mutual of Omaha and Milliman. Her journey included several positions, from senior actuarial assistant to actuarial consultant to consulting actuary to principal, highlighting the potential for growth and advancement in the actuarial field. In 2022, she attained a principalship with Milliman.
“Being a woman in today’s corporate world can be challenging at times,” she said. “However, CSM and my experiences at CSM instilled in me to persevere and never give up. One of my favorite quotes is ‘Perseverance, the secret of all triumphs.’”
In addition to her work, Stephanie has also found time to volunteer at her children’s schools and activities. She has served as president of the Elkhorn North Softball Booster Club, in the Elkhorn North Soccer Booster Club, and as a soccer team manager for the Elkhorn Athletic Association.
Stephanie was awarded the Alumnae Achievement Award during Homecoming on Sept. 23.
