OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary’s (CSM) Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) equips graduates to lead with confidence in today’s evolving workplace with a new change management certification.

The MSOL program’s capstone course is now a Qualified Education Provider, which allows students to become Certified Change Management Professionals (CCMP) by the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP).

“Being designated as a Qualified Education Provider aligns with our commitment to providing high-quality, real-world education that meets the needs of today’s quickly evolving business landscape. It strengthens our curriculum, ensuring our students graduate with a deep understanding of leadership and change management principles. Additionally, students will be well-prepared to achieve a powerful certification that sets them apart in a competitive job market,” said Beth Merkel, director of the MSOL program.

This designation affirms that the MSOL program’s capstone course, Culture and Organizational Change, meets ACMP’s Standard for Change Management, equipping graduates with the strategies and expertise to lead successful, sustainable change in organizations.

“This opens a seamless pathway for our students to earn this globally recognized credential, positioning them as subject matter experts in leadership and change management. Having both the MSOL and CCMP credentials after your name makes a powerful statement about your expertise and value in the workplace,” Merkel said.

Students complete the education requirements for the Certified Change Management Professional certification when they complete the MSOL program’s capstone course, making it easier for graduates to move forward in the certification process.

“This designation places College of St. Mary’s MSOL program in a unique position. While many programs teach leadership and organizational change, our collaboration with ACMP demonstrates our commitment to offering a comprehensive education that is academically rigorous and professionally relevant. The opportunity to earn a CCMP certification alongside a master’s degree in organizational leadership is a powerful combination that will help our graduates succeed in leadership roles across industries,” Merkel said. “We are proud of this achievement and excited to offer this unique professional development opportunity to our students as they prepare to lead and transform organizations in a rapidly changing world.”

CSM’s MSOL program is online, open to women and men, and can be completed in 12 months, making it ideal for working professionals. In the program, students gain practical leadership and change management skills that align with global best practices.

A live virtual information session for those interested in learning more about CSM's MSOL program is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 6.
