Mercy Hall Construction and Remodel

Mercy Hall Remodel Well Underway

Construction on Mercy Hall that began in March is going well according to College of Saint Mary spokesperson Kim Savicky.

Savicky, who serves as chief administration officer with oversight for facilities, said the dining hall is scheduled to open in September with the other areas to be completed by the end of the fall semester.

The project reconfigures the dining room with new serving stations, furniture and contemporary décor to enhance the student dining experience. Enrollment Services will be remodeled to feature a spacious lobby outlined by offices for admissions personnel, and the Mercy Hall Meeting Room and President’s Dining Room will also undergo much-needed updates. In mid-March, the University’s food service provider moved to the Lied Fitness Center and began serving out of a multi-purpose room with dining tables around the indoor track.

“The move went very well, and we appreciate the students’ patience knowing that a new dining facility is just around the corner,” Savicky said.

President Maryanne Stevens announced last February that funding had been secured for the nearly $8 million capital improvement project signaling the start of construction. Mercy Hall was known as the College Center before 2006.
