Anawim/Hasidim Societies

The Anawim and Hasidim Societies are the highest honors the Student Senate can bestow upon an individual student. The Student Senate will present these honors at the annual Recognition Day ceremony. Student Senate, Club Presidents, Faculty, Staff and Administration are asked to nominate students they think are worthy of these honors. Senate members are INELIGIBLE for the award.

The suggested guidelines that should be followed when nominating a student include:

  • Willing to assume responsibilities for the school and the organizations within it.
  • Willing to take on tasks; is a self-starter.
  • Offers help, suggestions and constructive criticism at meetings.
  • Carries out tasks to completion.
  • Respects faculty, administration, staff and other students.
  • Perceived by other students and faculty as a leader.

The list of nominees meeting the above guidelines is then discussed and voted on by the Student Senate. If the student receives the award for the first time, she will receive the honorary award ANAWIM. Should the student receive the award for the second time, she will be given the honorary name of HASIDIM. Students receiving these awards will receive a special certificate at the recognition ceremony mentioned above.
