College of Saint Mary, Area Businesses to Host Community Summit
OMAHA, Neb. – A collaboration between College of Saint Mary (CSM) and area businesses and nonprofit organizations continues as the University will host the second annual Aksarben Business Nonprofit Community Summit from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on April 11 in the Hillmer Art Gallery on campus, 7000 Mercy Road.
The meeting is focused on building voluntary communication networks and collaboration among all members of the Aksarben area business and nonprofit community to address issues of common concern and pursue shared goals.
“First and foremost, the summit provides an opportunity for representatives from Aksarben businesses, including CSM, to network and get to know each other,” said Kristin Mattson, assistant dean of general education at CSM. “Our hope is that by enacting our Aksarben community, we will strengthen our connections, improve our communication, and open up new possibilities for collaboration on the things that matter to us as neighbors.”
Collaborative partners include Askarben Elmwood Park Neighborhood Association, Community Alliance, Omaha Police Department, Aksarben Village Dial Senior Living, Chlorophyll By Kinghorn Gardens, Elmwood Pharmacy & Home Medical Equipment, Intercultural Senior Center, BlueCross BlueShield Nebraska, ACCESSbank, and Gotta Be Me.
