College of Saint Mary Receives $5,000 FCSAmerica Grant to Support Free Food Pantry

OMAHA, Neb. – Farm Credit Services of America recently awarded a $5,000 grant to the College of Saint Mary (CSM) to support the Maverick Food Pantry, a partnership with the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Maverick Food Pantry ensures that no student goes hungry. Funds provide healthy, free items to CSM students. The pantry is also open to UNMC students.

Students can access the pantry by showing their student ID card and then choose from among the available food items. Some hygiene and toiletry items are also available. Alternatively, students can fill out a form online, provide their student ID number, and have packages assembled for them to pick up.

It is expected that 250 food pantry packages will be distributed to CSM students during the 2023-24 academic year.
