Forty students to graduate from College of Saint Mary on Dec. 12
OMAHA, NEB. – College of Saint Mary will graduate 40 students during Winter Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 12th. They include one associate’s degree, 18 bachelor’s degrees, 18 master’s degrees, and three doctoral degrees.
Baccalaureate Mass will begin at 5 p.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel. Final Commencement will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Lied Fitness Center. Vernetta Boston Kosalka ’03, M’07 will deliver the commencement address.
Vernetta graduated in 2003 with a degree in business administration and in 2007 with a master’s in organizational leadership. She anticipates earning her doctorate in educational leadership (Ed.D). from CSM in May 2021. Originally from Charleston, SC, Vernetta lives in Omaha with her husband, Michael, and their daughter Victoria, 10, and son James, 8.
Vernetta owns The Wedding Planner Omaha, LLC, and specializes in events, wedding planning, and design. She is also a manager at Metropolitan Community College and an adjunct professor for both credit and non-credit courses. Vernetta is also one of 34 alumnae volunteer co-chairs who are leading CSM’s Striding Forward Capital Campaign.
*All attending will be required to wear a mask. CSM will provide masks for those who don’t have one. Currently Nebraska allows 25% capacity for indoor gatherings. CSM will continue to follow the government mandates; as of now the university will allow each graduate to bring two guests. This allows plenty of space to distance family groups, students, stage guests, and faculty.
