College of Saint Mary offers a comprehensive and engaging Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and special education. This degree qualifies you to teach children from kindergarten through sixth grade with an endorsement in special education. With that endorsement, you’ll work closely with counselors and parents to develop individual education plans, which will allow you to work in a variety of environments providing services for students with verified special needs.

Gain an in-depth knowledge in a high-demand subject by choosing a major in elementary education. A minor in any academic subject area is required. In addition, you may choose to major in elementary education with an emphasis in early childhood education, which would qualify you to teach preschool through sixth grade. Another option is a dual major in elementary education and special education, which would allow you to work as a general classroom teacher or as a resource teacher in kindergarten through sixth grade.
