The Philosophy Minor
The philosophy program, inspired by Socrates and guided by the College of Saint Mary mission, seeks to encourage learning, self-reflection and personal growth by challenging you to explore your most basic assumptions and emphasizing the importance of seeking the truth rather than accepting the status quo. Philosophy encourages you to see things from unfamiliar perspectives, thus opening your mind to new ways of understanding the world. A philosophy minor complements a wide range of majors and helps prepare you for graduate or professional school.
For this minor, you must successfully complete 18 credit hours to be approved by the philosophy program director and the arts and sciences division chair.
